Argel – Co-founder and CEO
I am an entrepreneurial Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) licensed to practice in the State of California, a member of the AICPA, and a proud resident of Downtown Los Angeles (“DTLA”).
I graduated cum laude and hold B.S. in Accounting from the University of San Francisco. After school, I became an auditor and tax consultant for Deloitte where I worked with multi-national corporations in the technology, supply-chain, and manufacturing industry space for half a decade.
Before starting heyApril, I founded a startup which automated the tax and accounting process for micro-businesses and participants of the sharing economy. But I’m not just an accountant! I was also a founding partner in a small business Downtown Los Angeles serving innovative cheese tea drinks.
Outside of work, I love playing basketball, eating Filipino food and trying to convince other people to buy minivans!
Mark Ted – Co-founder and President
I initiated the launch of heyApril Philippines and I am passionate in building a high performing team who will help bring the company to the next level. Prior to that I was part of several BPO companies such as TaskUs, Microsourcing, Concetrix, ePLDT Ventus and Convergys with extensive experience in Recruitment and Sourcing.
My business management background equipped me in building the company from ground up and made me adaptable to changes in any business environment. My strength lies in the combination of my analytical ability, with strong people skills, an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to create a great company culture.
When I’m not working, you can usually find me playing sports or exploring the local beaches!
Honey – Operations Manager
I am an experienced accounting, finance, tax and operations Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) with over 14 years of experience. I am flexible working with different nationalities from Asia, Europe, Middle East and USA. I specialize in working with small to mid-sized companies in setting up their books, payroll, bills, invoicing; help them on tax compliances; support them through advisory services for high growth and success. I am familiar with the latest technology and cloud-based software, especially in the areas of accounting and tax.
Prior to starting an outsourced accounting services firm, I received my CPA license in PH and I worked with multinational companies, software, shared-services and logistics companies, helping them on the overall cycle of accounting and PH tax compliances. Our clients operate in industries such as ecommerce, consulting, software, legal, social media, education and others. When heyApril was introduced to me by my colleague and met Mark and Argel, the founders, virtually, I knew I had to join them. I now lead and take care of the operations servicing our valuable clients with our suite of accounting and tax services for startups and growing companies.
Outside of work, I watch Netflix, play with my dog, bond with my family and do quick travel.
Aileen – Human Resources Executive
I bring with me 15 years of overall Human Resources experience, not only am I knowledgeable in all facets of HR but I have demonstrated experience in setting up tech, eCommerce, and retail companies. I also have a strong HR experience in the BPO sector, I had a pleasure of working for various call centers with multiple sites that cater to partners both local and abroad. Majority of the clients that I’ve worked with are from the US, Australia and the Philippines. I am skilled in General Management, Talent Acquisition and Retention, Talent Management and Total Rewards System.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and have gained certification not just in human resources and leadership but I have also been certified in various field of work including labor law, occupational safety, digital marketing, information security and risk management.Building something from ground up has always been my passion, I feel a sense of achievement when I see businesses grow and people landing their dream job.
When I’m not in this space, I spend a lot of time with my family. I am my ballerina daughter’s overall personal assistant and I love spending a chill day watching TV with my husband plus a bag (or bags) of chips on hand.
